Murderthon Tier Lists
How we rank Classes and Masks while the alpha meta is still moving.
Murderthon’s alpha meta shifts whenever Chilly Creations tunes generator speeds, chair timers, Mask kits, or map layouts such as West Park and Frost areas. This Tier List Hub explains how we rank both sides of the 4v1, what “S tier” means in an unfinished balance pass, and where to open the detailed boards for Classes and Masks.
If you want kit explanations rather than rankings, start with the roster hubs: Classes and Masks. For match fundamentals that matter more than letter grades, use the Guides Hub.
How we rank Murderthon
We score picks on practical lobby impact, not lore or shop price alone:
- Objective value — Does the Class finish gens, heal under pressure, or deny chairs in ways that change escape odds? Does the Mask secure downs and executions before five generators pop?
- Chase strength — Looping tools for Survivors (pallets, vents, blinds, invis) versus pressure tools for Masks (rushes, teleports, traps, ranged chips).
- Information — Recon pings, Lens cameras, terror radius reads, and scratch-mark control often decide games before raw damage does.
- Ease of use — Free beginner Masks like Ripe and Fate can outrank flashy kits if average players land value more consistently.
- Map fit — Limited pallets and vent-heavy layouts reward different kits than open park sightlines.
- Unlock cost — A strong Mask locked behind roughly 5,000 Shards is still “high investment”; we note that so new players spend codes wisely via the Codes Hub.
Letter tiers (S / A / B / C) are relative. An A-tier Class in coordinated four-stacks can look S-tier in pubs, and a C-tier Mask in the wrong hands can still snowball if Survivors greed generators.
Alpha meta caveats
Murderthon is early-access. Expect bugs, incomplete UX, and sudden nerfs. Mission-locked Classes may be stronger on paper than in your account progression. Upcoming kits such as Plague can invalidate yesterday’s board overnight. Always skim patch notes after events like Mask of Slasher drops before you invest every Shard into one Killer.
We also avoid ranking purely on exploit tech. If a strategy depends on a broken collision or unintended infinite loop, it will not stay S-tier for long—and teaching it as gospel hurts readers when it is patched.
Classes board
Survivor Classes shape how the team clears five of seven generators and survives chair pressure:
- Medic — medkit heals keep injured teammates in the fight.
- Handyman — faster or stronger pallet support during loops.
- Saboteur — sabotages electric chairs to buy rescue windows.
- Recon — pings the Mask so the squad can rotate early.
- Enforcer — blinds the Mask to break chases.
- Mechanic — accelerates generator progress.
- Cloaker — invisibility for rescues, hatches, or greedy last gens.

Masks board
Masks are the Killer roster. Free starters Ripe (madness / hallucinations) and Fate (traps) teach core pressure. Paid options around 5K Shards expand the toolkit:
- Sin — rush downs for aggressive chase endings.
- Pierce — teleport pressure onto generators.
- Sheol — ranged poking.
- Jammed — cuff control.
- Divide — vent denial against escape paths.
- Lens — camera and teleport information plays.
- Plague — listed as upcoming; rankings will update when it ships.

How to use these lists
- Pick a side for the session (Class or Mask).
- Check the matching tier page for the latest letter grades.
- Confirm unlock status—free, Shard purchase, or mission gate.
- Read one counter guide so you understand the other side’s best answer.
- Practice the pick for several matches before rerolling; alpha sample sizes are noisy.
Tier lists are a compass, not a script. A Mechanic who never looks up from a gen still dies to Sin. A Fate player who drops traps without cutting loops still loses to coordinated Enforcer blinds. Combine rankings with looping, the killer guide, and the controls reference.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Murderthon survivors and Masks.
How often is the Murderthon tier list updated?
After meaningful balance patches, new Mask or Class releases, and major map changes. Alpha can move weekly during events.
Should beginners follow S-tier only?
Not always. Free Masks like Ripe and Fate plus easy Classes often teach fundamentals faster than a hard S-tier kit you play poorly.
Do Shards cost affect tier rankings?
Power rankings focus on match impact, but we call out Shard or mission unlock cost so you plan spending with codes and quests.
Where do I see Class versus Mask grades?
Use the Class tier list and Mask tier list subpages linked from this hub for full boards.
Why can alpha tiers feel wrong in my lobby?
Pub coordination, map choice, and bugs swing results. Treat tiers as trends across many matches, not a promise for one game.
